Lindsay Reid – Director

I was born and raised in the Niagara Region of Ontario.

I attended the University of Western Ontario and Brock University where I graduated with Bachelors in Political Science and Labour Relations.

As part of a very tight knit family in Ontario upon graduating I worked at a family real estate business until I decided I wanted to travel across Canada with my boyfriend (now husband). Together we traveled to Nova Scotia where he had family, and we quickly decided to make the Annapolis Valley our home. Since moving here in 2007, I have worked and volunteered throughout our community, taking an interest in local food and music.

In 2010, with two of our friends, my husband and I started a small lunch cafe (The Rolled Oat) in Wolfville committed to local ingredients and quality food.  In 2011 I had a son which completed our family, and we now reside in North Alton with our dog and chickens. Our business ran successfully for 12 years and was one of the most fulfilling experiences I have ever had. Upon the closing of our business, I have had the opportunity to learn new skills working as an RRSP Program Assistant, as well as working at a small business with a passion for local foods.
