Henny Penny’s Farm Market – New Minas
Henny Penny’s Farm Market, located in the heart of New Minas, is owned and operated by Nadia and Renee Gerrits who bought the business in 2014. Henny Penny’s provides affordable, high quality food to consumers in the Annapolis Valley.
Supporting local is a core value of Henny Penny’s Farm Market, and this is why they strive to offer as much local food as possible. They carry a mix of local Nova Scotian products, as well as some imports.
In addition to operating the market, Nadia and Renee grow some of the produce sold at Henny Penny’s themselves – including beans, peas, carrots, garlic, onions, pumpkins, zucchini, squash, and more!
Henny Penny’s also has a Mobile Market that operates each week and travels to various locations, such as Valley Regional Hospital. It carries a wide variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, and meal options prepared in-store. The Mobile Market makes fresh, healthy food available to those who are unable to go to the market themselves.
Henny Penny’s is a positive example of what it means to support local Nova Scotian agriculture. They have everything needed to prepare a healthy, delicious, Nova Scotian-grown meal for you and your family!
