Ewephoria Felt – Baddeck
Ewephoria Felt was established in 2017 by Claire Drinnan, an experienced weaver, spinner, felter, and knitter. Claire has taught many classes on various types of weaving and spinning and has a lifetime of experience sewing and designing clothing.
Cape Breton Island and many other regions in the Maritimes have a rich heritage of fibre production and fibre art with Gaelic and Scottish roots. Ewephoria Felt gives nod to the heritage of fibre production and highlights the vast amount of felt fabric that can be made from locally grown wool from Cape Breton’s sheep meat and dairy producers.
Ewephoria Felt produces homespun art yarns for knitters, weavers, rug hookers, and yarn for finished knitted garments. Aside from retail products, Ewephoria Felt offers classes on felting, spinning, and weaving. Retail products are available at weekly markets, fibre festivals and stores along the Cabot Trail.
