Cochrane Family Farm is a certified organic family based farm that does not believe in or use any herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers other than natural. They offer a wide variety of products and services on their farm, selling Purina Feeds, Accessories, and farm related gear. They sell chicks from laying hens to meat chicks, and have a CSA (Community Shared Agriculture) for vegetables.

CSAs are a partnership between farmer and people who value fresh, local produce. CSA members register, in the spring; then during the growing season, they receive a weekly collection of fresh farm vegetables. Each registration and payment helps the farm plan for the crops and afford costs such as seeds and garden tools. CSA members share with the farmer, the risks and the bounty that are produced during the season.

Cochrane Family Farm is also home to a retail store that carries a variety of local Nova Scotian products for home, garden, and farm.
