The Cottage – Paddlers’ Cove

The Cottage Café (An Teachín) is located along Lake Banook in Dartmouth. An Teachín means “The Cottage” in Irish Gaelic. The café has an Irish Cottage theme and ambiance which ties into Dartmouth’s Irish heritage, and in particular the Shubenacadie Canal system which was built almost exclusively by Irish workers. Lake Banook is an important part of this canal system.

The Cottage Café serves delicious and classic Maritime meals with Irish and Scottish roots. The café also offers baked goods, tea, freshly brewed organic coffee, as well as a few locally brewed beers and wines.

The Cottage Café supports local farmers and producers by preparing good wholesome comfort food, delicious coffee, and tea while also promoting the first-rate quality of Nova Scotian local products.
